GUIDELINES


FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR EMPLOYEES, WE REQUIRE ALL TRASH AND YARD DEBRIS BE BAGGED AND TIED TIGHTLY, PLACED NEATLY AT YOUR COLLECTION SIGHT.

Thank you for choosing Valley Waste disposal for the removal of your residential garbage.  The following guidelines have been set to ensure proper servicing of your trash.  We ask that you adhere to all guidelines in order to provide the best service possible: 

*WE DO NOT PICKUP ANIMAL CARCASSES*

Pick up time: Routes may change from week to week due to adding new customers.  In order to insure your stop is not missed, trash must be out night before your scheduled pickup day.
Backdoor service: Trash is to be left at the top of customer's driveway in a designated area.  Customers with backdoor service MUST abide by the following:

1.    Driveway must be clear of all debris and vehicles, driveway must be wide enough to accommodate our trucks in a safe manner.
2.    There should be plenty of space for our trucks to turn around.
 

Inclement Weather

 We will always try to collect on your scheduled day.  If that is not possible, we will collect on your next scheduled day, (a week later) unless you are notified by phone or e-mailed of a rescheduled pickup day the same week.  

NO CREDIT WILL BE ISSUED FOR A MISSED PICKUP DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER CONDITIONS. If our driver does not see, dirt, gravel or blacktop, we will not drive down.   WE WILL BE COLLECTING TWO WEEKS WORTH OF GARBAGE THE FOLLOWING WEEK.  ALL BACKDOOR CUSTOMERS MUST BRING TRASH TO CURB DURING BAD WEATHER...WE WILL NOT BE GOING DOWN ANY PRIVATE DRIVES DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER.  THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING.

Containment: The amount of garbage from a single home, should not exceed, 2-96 gallons. Containers should not be over 50 lbs for the safety of our employees if customers are using a can without a lift on the back. For safety purposes, please do not have long pieces of wood, metal, glass, etc. sticking out of the top or sides of your trash containers.  ALL GLASS should be wrapped in newspaper so that it does not shatter in the street or driveway.

*All waste is required to be placed in a garbage bag tied tightly and then placed within a garbage can. Any waste that is disposed of any other way will not be collected*

HAZARDOUS MATERIALS: The Commonwealth of Virginia, prohibits throwing hazardous materials into trash containers due to health risks.  If there is a question please call the office. 

Bulk Items:  Any items other than household garbage are considered bulk or special pickup items. These may include furniture, electronic equipment, small carpets, and small appliances, We DO NOT collect construction debris of any type or mattresses. Please call the office one week in advance to arrange for pick up, and find out what your charge will be.   

Billing:    Service is billed quarterly, (3-month cycle) statements will be mailed or emailed 15 days prior to the quarter. Payment is due upon receipt. If payment is not received within the first 30 days of the quarter service will be suspended. If service is suspended, there will be a $25.00 surcharge to reinstate. A service charge will be applied to all accounts in the sum of, $25.00 for all returned checks.  If you cancel service during your 3-month cycle there will not be a refund. When you pay for that quarter you are on a 3-month contract at that time.
